I have been getting a few spam mails using email attachments lately. I Googled around to see if it was something others are seeing, and turns out it is. Seems like it all really started getting reported in late June, so I guess it is a recent phenomenon.

Funny thing, I got my first one of these just today. Weird method of delivery, huh? Good social engineering though – the spammer knows we will trust a PDF more than a jpg or gif (for example).
I started getting about 1 or 2 a week in June. Now I am seeing 2 or 3 a day in my inbox. Apparently our spam appliance which shall remain nameless have not caught up to this threat. Maybe they have and our IT dept hasn’t updated anything
